The Celebration of the Birth of Set – 29th of July

During this night the magician shall enjoy a feast in the honour of Set. The meal must consist of food items sacred unto the Lord, like for instance fish, pork, watermelon, lettuce salad, onions, beer, red vine etc.

The meal must be eaten with the left hand (if the magician is left-handed the right hand is used instead in order to invoke the presence of The Other) as a sacrifice and as a holy communion.

Seven red candles are later to be cleansed, inscribed with His names, dressed and consecrated and placed upon the altar. At the stroke of midnight the ritual is opened in the traditional manner and the seven candles are lighted in His seven Names of Power. After the giving of suitable burnt offerings of herbs and resins the magician is to assume the stance of the 'Trident of Sut' and the following invocation/prayer is to be recited seven times:

"O Mighty Set, fearsome son of Nut, it is the raw power of your name and the names of your name that fills my heart with hope in this night of conquering darkness and maddening nightmares!

Let the shadow of your sevenfold light cloak me on this glorious night and grant me your protection and your blessings! O destroyer of the hosts of finite light and slayer of the gods of men, I pray to you to imbue me with your presence on this night of your unlawful birth and lawless becoming!

Grant me, NN, the power to become strong as you in might and able to recreate myself and go forth into the night upon your flaming path of lawlessness and liberation! Awaken now the aspect of your Sekhem that I carry within me and let the black flame of spirit reach out and become as one with your deathless fire!

Lend unto me the magic of Xeper-I-Set, and I shall, in your name and the names of your name, break the shackles of Maat and establish Isfet! Bless me and with your blessings I shall curse and overthrow the order of your enemies!

Ablanathanalba Sut, guide my steps upon the dark path with the unseen light of your imperishable stars and let me, in your name, overcome all the weaknesses and limitations of the governors of finite light and I shall triumph and become Pakerbeth!

Hear me now utter your most holy and terrifying names of power and come forth and take seat within me, NN, whose whole existence has been made into a temple fully dedicated to your Might:

Achachor Achchor Achachachptoumi Chachcho Charachoch Chaptoume Chora Choch Aptoumime Chochaptou Charachptou Chachcho Chara Choch Ptenachocheou!"

The magician channels the powers of the Red Lord of the Deshert and the Black Lord of the Northern Sky and directs them towards different targets of will and desire, in order to further establish and strengthen Isfet and undermine the tyrannical rule of Maat.
